Our work

Our work

KinetiKData is a company that researches, architects and builds digital health systems for pharmaceuticals, networked healthcare systems and research. We specialize in developing algorithms on consumer devices. We translate raw, wearable sensor data from mobile devices and wearable sensors, producing clinically meaningful information to detect diseases and monitor health status.

How are we different?

We take the responsibility to produce the highest quality scientific results seriously. That means we care about reproducible results. That also means we will tell you when what you want to do is likely to be impossible. Where we believe it is possible, we rely on the latest scientific knowledge. We focus on data quality first, “big data” second.

We develop accurate algorithms and mathematical models that can be understood by ordinary mortals.  We focus both on predictive accuracy and on algorithm logic that can be understood so that it can be trusted, explained, translated, ported, and integrated with existing knowledge and systems.

We develop the simplest software solutions possible to do the job. We believe that usually, the minimum viable product is the only product ever needed. Software is complex and we do not create software to solve problems that do not exist yet.  We strive for simplicity over complexity.

Our core values:

·       Transparency, open minds and open data. It's the best way to harness collective thinking to get effective solutions.

·       Deliver value to our customers.

·       Take a systems approach to everything; technology cannot be divorced from the human context.

·       Make prototypes, not promises; make designs, not documents.

·       Collaborate and partner.

Max A. Little, CSO

Max is mathematician with a background in applied mathematics, statistics, signal processing and computational engineering. He has made contributions to a range of scientific and engineering problems, including biomedicine, extreme rainfall, groundwater flow, speech science, and nonlinear signal processing. The unifying theme of my research is the multidisciplinary quantitative analysis of complex systems. Max is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Aston University, UK,
a visiting Associate Professor at MIT's Media Lab and a Senior
Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, and a TED Fellow.
